Our role in the Latitudo Borealis project was acting as video producer and landscape designer for the 2017 Research Through Making research grant working under Geoffrey Thün and Kathy Velikov of RVTR.
The project focuses on visually communicating GIS climate and environmental data for the project site in the Austrian Alps. Using GIS we produced a video that visualized global annual solar radiation, annual average temperatures, and Köppen Climate Classification zones. The video starts at the global level, drops down to the examine the European Alpine region, the valley, and ultimately the site, which is a wilderness preserve located in Feldkirch, Austria.
Research partner Dan Tish led the pavilion architecture and managed the grasshopper genetic algorithm optimized computational process to create the form of the louvres.
